We rented a Villa on the beach in San jose Del Cabo for the month of April.  It was perfect; a short walk to the Mega store, a few good restaurants nearby, a pool, hot tub, fire pit.... 

Daily walks on the beach, surf fishing, golf and exploring the region took up our days as we very seriously contimplated buying or building.  We ended up returning in June to visit Querencia and committing to building a new house there. 

Maui, January, 2011

An escape to Maui early in the new year was just right.  Fun on the beach, golf, paddle boarding, sight seeing.... really a positive break to celebrate my new found freedom from the office.

Royal Montreal Golf Club

At the invitation of friends Rob and Sandy McDougall, I was lucky enough to play Royal Montreal earlier this month. What a tremendous golf club!

I wish I had taken my camera to take a few photos of my hosts and their golf course.

It was good to see friends that I haven't seen in a few years and to get together like we saw each other yesterday.

The Baja, April 2011

Once again we vacationed in the southern Baja, we had two weeks of "Ground Hog Day" - the weather never varied, a high of 26 or 27 degrees and sunny - every day the same. A week in San Jose and a week in Todos Santos.

500 Days

August 19, 2011

500 days until I retire. I still have some time to adjust to the idea but since the January 2011 announcement of my retiring at the end of 2012, time has been flying by.

It has been over 18 months since my last post, a long time.

Margot asked me I wasn't blogging anymore?

I don't know but she encouraged me to keep on.

The Queen Charlotte Islands of British Columbia, Canada, are literally on the edge of the world and the Queen Charlotte Lodge is an amazingly luxury fishing lodge in this northern, remote wilderness.

I just returned from a weekend at the lodge and while the weather was cold and wet, the fishing was fun and the scenery stunningly beautiful. Sea lions, seals, bears, deer and bald eagles are common sights. The Lodge is a first class operation with great food and accomodation but the staff make the place a friendly fun place to be.

Sleep Over.

Virginia and I had our Granddaughter, Hannah, for a sleepover last night. Great fun! Not a first but as she is getting older (2 1/2) every visit just seems to get better as communications and activities are more fun for all. Out to dinner last night at the golf club buffet, Granddad and Hannah off to the Belgian bakery early this morning for fresh croissants and hot chocolate and coffee, the Italian deli (Spolumbo's) for lunch and of course Oliver's candy store for some pre Easter treats. Ok, this visit was focused on good food, I promise Hannah next time we will go to the Zoo!

Lots of post sleepover clean-up as we have way to many toys, the kitchen set and little plastic animals seem to be the favorites.

I meant to take a few photos but just forgot.

25 Years is a long time.

Today is the 25th anniversary of my working for the same organization; a quarter century, a milestone of some significance.
